Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia (MMM) has just introduced a special edition variant to their pickup model called the Triton Knight. This 120-unit edition is based on the range topping RM116k VGT Adventure trim, but comes with several aesthetic upgrades to distinguish the two.
Available only in Pearl White, the Triton Knight gets dressed in matte black front grille and rear bumper, blacked 17-inch alloy wheels and black sports bars. Also packaged here are the exclusive front bumper extender and Knight body stickers. Inside is very much the same, except the seats now come with Knight embroidery.
This special edition model doesn’t come with any mechanical enhancements. As such, it soldiers on with the same 2.5-litre four-cylinder turbodiesel engine, packing 178 hp at 4,000 rpm and 400 Nm of torque from 2,000 rpm. Because it’s based on the Triton VGT Adventure, the Triton Knight can only be had with the five-speed automatic (with manual shift and paddle shifters) transmission. Drive is sent to all four wheels through and can be electronically changed on the fly. All VGT variants benefit from a hybrid limited slip differential.
The Triton Knight is fully imported from Thailand. It’s sold alongside five other variants, from the entry level Triton Quest 4×2 (RM71k) to Triton VGT Adventure (RM116k).
