At Auto China 2026, the Smart #6 is on display as the marque’s first-ever sedan model. Colloquially, it is also the company’s largest model to date, measuring 4,906 mm long, 1,922 mm wide, and 1,508 mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2,926 mm. To put its size into perspective, you can park a Concept #2 within the span of its wheelbase.
Much like its SUV and crossover counterparts, the Smart #6 is still thoroughly a Smart. Its exterior is penned by Mercedes-Benz, denoted by a plaque mounted on the B-pillar. This heritage shows in the quirkily designed side mirrors mounted on the doors, the full-width daytime running lights (DRLs), and the taillights. The rear lighting houses something the marque calls ‘Pixeltalk’, which features over 10,000 dot matrix LEDs to display messages alongside over 20 preset lighting effects.
Don’t let its sedan profile fool you, because technically, the Smart #6 is a sleek fastback. The rear boot space is fully integrated into the cabin, and the massive rear tailgate swings open alongside the rear windshield to a height of 1.9 meters. Seamlessly integrated into this tailgate is an active, four-stage adjustable rear spoiler designed to maximise high-speed stability.
Inside, the Smart #6 shares a screen-centric layout quite similar to the Smart #5, featuring a dedicated entertainment display for the front passenger. While official specifications for this futuristic setup haven’t been finalised, they are expected to match the 13-inch AMOLED displays used in the #5.
The main differences lie in the driver’s seat: the #6 receives a letterbox-style digital gauge cluster and distinctively styled, ‘+’ shaped dashboard air conditioning vents with integrated 256-colour ambient lighting.

Under the skin, the Smart #6 is powered by Geely’s NordThor-sourced EHD (Electric Hybrid Drive) plug-in hybrid powertrain. The setup pairs a 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine with a traction motor via a three-speed dedicated hybrid transmission (DHT). Together, the system develops a combined output of 435 hp (320 kW), pushing Smart #6 from 0-100 km/h in 6.7 seconds.
While the full battery capacity remains undisclosed, Smart claims the #6 can travel up to 285 km on pure electric power. With the internal combustion engine engaged, the total driving range reaches 1,810 km, which Smart asserts is the longest for a luxury fastback sedan. However, these figures are based on the optimistic CLTC test cycle. When the battery runs low, DC fast charging can replenish the battery from 30-80% in 15 minutes.
To round out its technological edge, the Smart #6 leans heavily into advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) to compete in China’s highly competitive tech landscape. The entire lineup features a roof-mounted LiDAR sensor as standard equipment, which underpins the marque’s premium intelligent driving architecture.
This hardware grants the fastback full Highway NSP (Navigation Smart Pilot) and Urban NSP navigate-on-autopilot capabilities straight out of the box. The system also supports automated parking and intelligent obstacle avoidance, all visually tied together by a standard, exterior-mounted “Smart Driving Blue Light” on the roof to signal to surrounding traffic when the Smart #6 is operating autonomously.
