Tesla Model Y L pricing confirmed in Malaysia – 6-seater EV SUV from RM262k

The Tesla Model Y L was just unveiled a couple of days ago in Malaysia with an estimated price of RM260,000. Today, the car is officially listed on Tesla’s Malaysian website with an official price starting from RM261,700, and can now be configured to RM309,700 on the road, without insurance.

The key difference with the Tesla Model Y L lies in its larger footprint. The wheelbase is extended by 150 mm and the roofline raised by 44 mm, allowing it to accommodate a three-row, six-seat (2-2-2) layout. It also introduces a new colour option, Cosmic Silver, available for an additional RM11,000.

As standard, the car comes finished in Stealth Grey. Other colour options listed on the website include Pearl White Multi-Coat and Diamond Black, both available for an additional RM5,000, Glacier Blue for RM7,500, and Ultra Red for RM11,000.

To further set it apart, the Model Y L is offered with a single wheel design — 19-inch Machina 2.0 wheels exclusive to this variant. Inside, it comes standard with an all-black interior, while a new Zen Grey interior is available for an additional RM5,000.

Inside, the Tesla Model Y L benefits from a new 16-inch centre screen as part of the 2026 Model Y update. It also features a revised, ventilated wireless charging pad delivering up to 50W for the driver and 30W for the passenger. Rear passengers get dedicated air vents on the B- and C-pillars, along with an eight-inch screen behind the centre armrest for climate controls.

With all the most expensive options ticked, including Tesla’s Full Self-Driving Capability priced at RM32,000, the price goes up to RM309,700 on the road and without insurance

Based on the all-wheel drive (AWD) Premium variant of the Model Y, the Tesla Model Y L accelerates from 0-100 km/h in just 5.0 seconds — only 0.2 seconds slower than its smaller brother.

Interestingly, no detailed specifications have been disclosed in typical Tesla fashion, but range has been bumped up to 681 km (WLTP), compared to an estimated 629 km for the standard Model Y. This is presumably due to a larger battery made possible by the extended wheelbase, while the car is also said to regain up to 288 km of range in just 15 minutes via the company’s Supercharger network.

If you book the car today, the website quotes an estimated delivery time of one to three months, in line with Tesla’s earlier indication of deliveries beginning in Q2 2026.
