Honda Malaysia has launched the updated Honda CR-V, streamlining the range to three variants following the discontinuation of the petrol-powered S and E models. The E variant now serves as the entry point for the lineup, featuring the e:HEV hybrid powertrain previously reserved for the top-range RS variant. This positions the 1.5-litre turbocharged V AWD as the mid-range variant, with prices for the Honda CR-V starting from RM178,200 on-the-road, excluding insurance.
- Honda CR-V E 2.0L e:HEV- RM178,200
- Honda CR-V 1.5L V AWD – RM181,900
- Honda CR-V RS 2.0L e:HEV – RM195,900

For comparison, the entry price for the new Honda CR-V is RM18,300 higher than the outgoing S variant. However, the entry-level E variant now comes with the e:HEV powertrain – previously exclusive to the top-spec RS – making the entry point to a hybrid CR-V RM17,700 cheaper. Otherwise, the prices for the Honda CR-V remain the same.
According to Honda Malaysia, the introduction of the new E variant of the CR-V, powered by the 2.0-litre e:HEV powertrain, marks the first time two hybrid variants have been offered in a single model lineup, representing a significant milestone for the brand’s hybrid expansion strategy.
The e:HEV powertrain in the Honda CR-V is a series-parallel hybrid setup. It features a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder engine that produces 148hp/190Nm, primarily acting as a generator, paired with a traction motor that generates 184 hp and 335 Nm. This setup drives the front wheels via an e-CVT direct-drive system, enabling the CR-V e:HEV to sprint from 0-100 km/h in 8.9 seconds, reach a top speed of 185 km/h, and achieve a rated fuel consumption of 5L/100 km.

On the other hand, the V variant features a 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces 193 hp and 243 Nm. It is paired with a CVT gearbox, which sends power to an all-wheel drive (AWD) system, enabling a 0-100 km/h sprint in 10 seconds and a top speed of 200 km/h. Fuel consumption for this variant is rated at 7.5L/100 km.
The updated Honda CR-V’s exterior receives minimal changes, with the main update being the addition of Blazing Red Pearl exterior colour. This new paint job joins Canyon River Blue Metallic, Platinum White Pearl, and Meteoroid Grey Metallic, expanding the colour options to four. All variants now come standard with Honda-authorised solar and security tints from Ecotint.
