Alongside the debut of the menacing GWM Tank 500 Black Edition, GWM Malaysia also announced that the new GWM Ora Good Cat and Ora Good Cat GT will be launching in Malaysia next week on November 6, 2025, with an estimated sticker price of below RM115,000 for the standard model and below RM125,000 for the GT variant. Order books for both variants are open.
As the name suggests, the GWM Ora Good Cat GT is essentially a spruced-up version of the cutesy-looking Good Cat, featuring sportier exterior styling cues, including yellow or red accents on the side mirrors, front and rear bumpers, alloy wheels, and a rear spoiler, depending on the exterior colour.
The interior mirrors the exterior’s aggressive styling, featuring a dual-tone black and yellow theme. It comes with sports seats embossed with the GT logo on both the driver and passenger seats, upholstered in Alcantara-like material that also covers the dashboard and door cards.
To match its more aggressive styling, the GT variant also gets a more potent powertrain. In Thailand where the Ora Good Cat GT is being sold, its front-mounted electric motor makes 169 hp and 250 Nm, compared to the standard model’s 143 hp and 210 Nm. This is juiced by a 57.7 kWh lithium-iron phosphate (LFP) battery, enabling a range of 460 km (NEDC).

For the standard GWM Ora Good Cat, GWM Malaysia states the EV hatchback will feature “refreshed styling and comfort upgrades”. Though don’t get your hopes up that the car will sport an updated design seen on the facelift model in China, though, as teaser images suggest the exterior styling will still remain unchanged.
What’s more likely is a slight nip and tuck on the interior, with likely an updated centre console layout similar to the GT model. That’ll see the previous rotary gear selector be replaced by a stalk behind the steering wheel, and unlike the facelift model in China, GWM Malaysia has also confirmed that the new Ora Good Cat will retain its dual 10.25-inch displays.
The bigger update could possibly lie underneath the skin, as the new Ora Good Cat is now equipped with a new 57.7 kWh LFP battery, enabling a range of 480 km (NEDC). This new battery pack slots the new Ora Good Cat between the outgoing 400 Pro variant’s 47.8 kWh battery (400 km range) and the 500 Ultra variant’s 63.1 kWh battery (500 km range).
The powertrain specifications for the new GWM Ora Good Cat remain the same, featuring a 143 hp and 210 Nm front motor. Charging is supported via 6.6 kW AC or 60 kW DC fast charging; the latter can recharge the battery from 30-80% in 38 minutes.
For safety features, both the Ora Good Cat and Ora Good Cat GT will be equipped with a suite of ADAS features, which include adaptive cruise control with intelligent turning, traffic jam assist, and front collision warning, as well as lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, and lane centring assist. The GT variant adds Launch Control to this list.
As always, we’ll be on-site to cover the launch of the new GWM Ora Good Cat and GWM Ora Good Cat GT, so stay tuned for pricing and final specifications.
