It looks like a new Suzuki model could be launching in Malaysia soon, as teased by a post on the Suzuki Malaysia Facebook page, with a photo showing a silhouette of a new car, along with the caption, “What’s next?”
While the post suggests fans to guess between three different models, the outline and light signature is without a doubt those of the Suzuki Fronx, which only recently made an appearance at the 2025 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show for our neighbours.
Previously at the grand opening of Suzuki Malaysia’s flagship showroom in Petaling Jaya, Suzuki Motor Corporation Executive General Manager Automobil Marketing Asia, Latin America, and Oceania, Masafumi Harano, stated in his opening remarks at the launch that a new Suzuki model is in the pipeline to be introduced in Malaysia. With the teaser today, it looks like that model could very likely be the Suzuki Fronx.
Measuring 3,995 mm long, 1,765 mm wide, and 1,550 mm tall, with a 2,520 mm wheelbase, the Suzuki Fronx fits squarely in the B-segment SUV category. If it launches here, it would compete against rivals like the Honda WR-V, Chery Tiggo Cross, and the Perodua Ativa.

In Indonesia, where the Suzuki Fronx was only launched recently, the compact crossover model is powered by a 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated four-cylinder engine making 101 hp and 135 Nm of torque, paired to a six-speed automatic transmission.
There’s also a mild-hybrid (MHEV) option, featuring a slightly more powerful 1.5-litre four-pot engine making 105 hp and 138 Nm. This is paired to an integrated starter generator (ISG) and a 12V lithium-ion battery pack, with an added option of a five-speed manual in addition to the six-speed slushbox.
At a glance, the Suzuki Fronx’s design is somewhat reminiscent of the Hyundai Kona, particularly its front fascia with its split-headlights design. The daytime running lights (DRLs) are positioned high up, near the bonnet shutline, while the main headlights are integrated into the front bumper in a three-cluster design.
Inside, the Suzuki Fronx features a nine-inch infotainment display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a heads-up display (HUD) for the driver, a wireless charging pad, and rear air-con blowers for those seated at the back.
If the Suzuki Fronx does indeed make its debut in Malaysia, it will serve as a more market-friendly, mainstream model for the brand compared to the niche offerings of the Suzuki Swift Sport and the Jimny. With its key rivals from Perodua, Honda, and Chery all priced around the RM100,000 mark, it’s likely the Suzuki Fronx would be targetting a similar price point if – or rather when – it launches here.
