The all‑new 2025 Proton X50 has been officially launched in Malaysia, with prices starting from RM 89,800 on-the-road, without insurance. Boasting a new engine and fresh new looks, it’s offered in three variants — Executive, Premium and Flagship — while the previous model’s Standard trim has been discontinued.
Notably, the Executive variant’s sticker price is RM3,500 cheaper than its counterpart from the previous generation model. The Premium variant is priced from RM101,800, while the Flagship comes in at RM113,300, both of which unchanged from before.
The standout change in the all-new 2025 Proton X50 is the introduction of a new 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine, in place of the previous three-cylinder units. The new four-pot mill is now standard across all three variants, and delivers 181 hp and 290 Nm of torque, with power sent to the front wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT). This setup enables the X50 to sprint from 0-100 km/h in just 7.6 seconds.
On the outside, the car now features a bolder look with slimmer headlights and a larger, more pronounced front grille. The rear sees a new full-width taillight design and retains its quad-exhaust outlets.

Standard exterior features include 17-inch wheels, LED headlamps with daytime running lights (DRLs), automatic windshield wipers, and more. Higher-end variants add larger 18-inch wheels, a powered tailgate, and a panoramic sunroof, among other features.
Inside, the cabin adopts a cleaner, more minimalist design inspired by the Proton eMAS 7 (stylised as e.MAS 7). It features an 8.88-inch digital instrument cluster and a 14.6-inch infotainment display with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Fabric seats are standard, while higher variants offer leather upholstery, a wireless charging pad, dual-tone interior, and 72-colour ambient lighting.
In conjunction with the all-new 2025 Proton X50 launch, Proton has three special launch packages for their latest SUV, which include a trade-in overtrade support of up to RM10,000, special financing packages, an upgraded Proton insurance programme, and a RM4,000 rebate for the first 10,000 customers.
