Continental Tyres Malaysia has launched the all-new EcoContact 6 and EcoContact 6Q tyres, which the company claims to offer enhanced comfort, lower rolling resistance, and improved efficiency. These improvements help petrol and hybrid vehicles consume less fuel, while enabling electric vehicles (EVs) to travel further on a single charge.
With its primary focus on fuel efficiency, the EcoContact 6 features a special silica compound that significantly optimises rolling resistance, leading to reduced carbon emissions. Its tailor-made tread pattern, featuring an asymmetric rib and sipe geometry, is engineered to provide reliable grip and stability on both wet and dry roads.
The Continental EcoContact 6Q builds upon the features of the standard EcoContact 6 by incorporating advanced noise-reduction technology. It utilises a custom tread pattern and the “Advanced Green Chili 2.0” compound, which adapts to road conditions to further improve rolling resistance and fuel economy.
Both EcoContact 6 and EcoContact 6Q tyres incorporate the German tyre maker’s ContiSilent technology. This system features a polyurethane foam absorber, which reduces road noise inside the cabin, ensuring a quieter and more comfortable drive across various road surfaces.
The Continental EcoContact 6 and EcoContact 6Q are available in sizes ranging from 15- to 21-inches. For BMW and Mercedes-Benz vehicles, these tyres will come with OE (Original Equipment) markings, which indicate they have been specially developed and approved for the two German makes.
Customers can purchase the EcoContact 6 and EcoContact 6Q tyres at authorised Continental dealers nationwide, as well as at official Continental stores on Shopee, TNG, and Lazada. Prices start from RM283 per piece, based on listings on its official online stores.
