Chery Malaysia has officially launched the all-new Chery Tiggo Cross here on our shores. Priced from RM88,800 on-the-road, without insurance, the Tiggo Cross is locally assembled (CKD) and is available in two variants, with the highlight being the hybrid variant with a claimed range of 1,000 km.

Measuring 4,318 mm in length and with a 2,610 mm wheelbase, the Chery Tiggo Cross is shorter than the pre-facelift Proton X50 but boasts a 10 mm longer wheelbase. Furthermore, at 1,830 mm wide and 1,670 mm tall, the Chery is also wider and taller than the national crossover.
In terms of exterior design, the Chery Tiggo Cross shares a family resemblance with its larger siblings, the Tiggo 7 Pro and Tiggo 8 Pro. It features a prominent diamond-patterned front grille flanked by a pair of vertical daytime running lights (DRLs), while the rear features full-width LED taillights.

Otherwise, the key difference between the standard petrol and hybrid variants is the “HYBRID” emblem on the tailgate, in place of “CROSS”, and the smaller 17-inch alloy wheels equipped on the hybrid variant, versus 18-inch items on the pure ICE variant. Bootspace on the Chery Tiggo Cross is rated at 380 litres and can be expanded to 1,025 litres with the rear seats folded.
Standard exterior equipment of the Chery Tiggo Cross in Malaysia includes:
- Automatic LED headlights with follow-me home functionality, with LED taillights and DRLs
- 18-inch alloy wheels
- Red brake callipers
- Rear fog lights
- Rear sport spoiler
Inside, both Chery Tiggo Cross variants are equipped with almost the same interior trimmings, with the exception being the hybrid variant getting powered lumbar support for the driver seat. Otherwise, the interior of the Chery Tiggo Cross features a pair of 10.25-inch displays, serving as the driver’s digital gauge cluster and the infotainment display.
Towards the centre console, it houses a digital control panel for the dual-zone climate control, with a small cutout for the wireless charging pad. There are three available drive modes for the pure ICE variant: Eco, Normal, and Sport. The latter hybrid variant simplifies this to just two modes, Eco and Sport.

In Malaysia, the Chery Tiggo Cross is available with regular petrol or hybrid powertrains. The base Tiggo Cross is powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine that delivers 147 hp and 210 Nm to the front wheels via a six-speed dual-clutch transmission. This enables a 0-100km/h in 10.3 seconds.
Stepping up to the hybrid variant, the Tiggo Cross utilises a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated engine that makes 102 hp and 125 Nm, paired to a Direct Hybrid Transmission (DHT) which integrates two electric motors producing up to 204 hp and 310 Nm of torque. This enables the Hybrid Tiggo Cross to achieve 0-100 km/h faster in 8.9 seconds, enabling a range of 1,000 km.
For safety features, the base Chery Tiggo Cross is equipped with six airbags, whereas the hybrid variants is equipped with seven airbags. Both variants are equipped with a 360-surround view camera, tyre pressure monitoring system, and a suite of advanced driver assistant systems (ADAS). However, the Hybrid variant is equipped with the full suite of ADAS features that includes:
- Adaptive cruise control (ACC) with Traffic jam assist (TJA)
- Door opening warning (DOW)
- Rear cross traffic alert (RCTA)
- Lane change assist (LCA)
- Emergency lane keep assist (ELKA)
- Lane centring assist (LCA)
- Blind spot monitors (BSM)
- Intelligent headlight control (IHC)
- Speed limit assist
The Chery Tiggo Cross in priced from RM88,888 for the base variant and RM99,800 for the hybrid variant. As standard, both variants of the Tiggo Cross are available with Carbon Black, Phantom Grey, and Khaki White exterior colours. Each variant is offered with its exclusive paint job. The pure ICE variant can be specified in Blood Stone Red, while the hybrid variant is available in a unique Moonlight Silver.
Included in the price is a seven-year or 150,000 km warranty coverage. The hybrid variant gets additional warranty perks, which include an eight-year warranty or 160,000 km on the battery power pack, power motor, and hybrid control unit. Both variants of the Chery Tiggo Cross are also entitled to seven years of free towing service.
