2025 Honda HR-V facelift open for booking in Malaysia – launch in Q3

Not to be outdone by the Proton X50 earlier today, Honda Malaysia has now announced the opening of order books for the new 2025 Honda HR-V. The company says that the new facelifted crossover will be launched sometime in Q3 2025, and interested customers can now place a booking via Honda Malaysia’s online platforms.

As many have guessed, the new 2025 Honda HR-V facelift is indeed part of the three-car line-up that Honda Malaysia teased earlier this year, alongside the updated Honda Civic and fully electric e:N1, both of which have already been officially launched earlier this year. It’ll arrive in Malaysia with mild tweaks to its exterior and interior designs.

Pictured here in the range-topping RS e:HEV variant, the new 2025 Honda HR-V facelift in Malaysia will sport reprofiled bumpers, complemented by a new, wider front grille, as well as a more minimalist full-width tail light design. The wheels are also new, at least here on the RS, with a new two-tone finish instead of the monotone grey items from before.

The facelift will also bring along two new colours, namely Phoenix Orange Pearl and Crystal Black Pearl – although curiously, Honda Malaysia decided not to show them off in these official shots!

No photos of the new interior have been shared thus far, although based on the car that was launched in Thailand last year, we know that it’ll get a newly redesigned centre console with a more conventional layout, opening up the space to an additional storage cubby beneath the air-con controls. The eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system has also been updated to support wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

No changes are expected for the powertrain, and like before, the new 2025 Honda HR-V will continue to be offered in three powertrain options in Malaysia, including naturally aspirated (NA), turbocharged, and e:HEV hybrid options.

The NA variant utilises the same 1.5-litre inline-four engine as found in the City models, making the same 121 hp and 145 Nm as before. The 1.5-litre VTEC Turbo’s force induction raises the outputs to 181 hp and 240 Nm. Both powertrain options are paired to a CVT to drive the front wheels.

No changes too for the hybrid, with the 1.5-litre e:HEV mill continue to provide 131 hp and 253 Nm from its electric motor, while the 105 hp 1.5-litre NA engine primarily functions as a generator that charges the battery and motors.

Other improvements here come in the form of a new Adaptive Driving Beam and Active Cornering Light feature for the Honda Sensing advanced driving assistance suite (ADAS).
