BMW Malaysia has launched the all-new G90-generation BMW M5 in Malaysia. The super sport sedan is available as a fully-imported (CBU) model from Germany, and is priced from RM1,247,900 on-the-road, without insurance, and inclusive of the BMW Service and Repair Inclusive (BSRI) programme.
Setting itself apart from the regular 5 Series, the M5 is immediately recognisable by its low-slung profile, flared and sculpted wheel arches, two-piece black diffuser, and quad exhaust tailpipes at the rear, all designed to showcase its high-performance credentials.

Inside the BMW M5, you’ll find a driver-oriented BMW Curved Display, integrating a 14.9-inch central touchscreen infotainment display and a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster. As a thoroughbred M-model, the M5’s interior is accompanied by M-specific graphics, and the redesigned M steering wheel now features the signature M1/M2 custom mode selectors.

Powering the BMW M5 is a powertrain derived from the BMW XM, featuring a 4.4-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine that produces 585 hp and 750 Nm. This is paired with an electric motor delivering 197 hp and 280 Nm, for a combined output of 727 hp and 1,000 Nm of torque.
All of this power is sent to all four wheels via an eight-speed automatic gearbox, allowing for a 0-100 km/h sprint in just 3.5 seconds and a top speed of 250 km/h. This top speed can be increased to 305 km/h with the optional M Driver’s package, with the M Sport exhaust system sending the V8 rumble directly into the cabin.
With its onboard 18.6 kWh lithium-ion battery, the BMW M5 has a pure electric range of 69 km (WLTP). Charging is supported with 11 kW AC charging, enabling a full recharge in 3 hours and 15 minutes.
Standard for the first time on the BMW M5 is the addition of integral active steering, which provides rear-wheel steering for enhanced high-speed stability and improved manoeuvrability at low speeds. This, coupled with its adaptive M suspension, offering Comfort, Sport, and Sport Plus modes, should make the M5 quite lively on the racetrack.
In terms of safety features, the BMW M5 is equipped with BMW’s driving assistant professional suite of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), which includes adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, active steering, and automatic speed limit monitoring.
The BMW M5 in Malaysia is available in a selection of exterior colours which include Alpine White, Sophisto Grey, Fire Red, Brooklyn Grey, Carbon Black, Isle of Man Green, Marina Bay Blue, and Storm Bay.
Prices for the BMW M5 in Malaysia start at RM1,247,900 with the optional BMW service and inclusive programme that includes a five-year unlimited mileage warranty and five-year or 100,000 km of service coverage. Without the optional BSRI programme, the BMW M5 is priced at RM1,188,800.
