BMW Malaysia has launched the all-new CKD 218 Gran Coupe Sport alongside the all-new X3 20 xDrive M Sport today at My BMW World 2025 with a starting estimated retail price of RM241,000 on-the-road and without insurance.
The second-generation 2 Series Gran Coupe measures 4,546 mm long, 2,070 mm wide, and 1,445 mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2,670 mm. The key visual update lies at the front, featuring a new kidney grille and headlight design
Now looking more like the 5 series, the front bumper has also been enhanced with new side air intakes and a centrally split lower intake said to be inspired by BMW M design. Along with this new front facia, the rear pillar sports a revised Hofmeister kink with number “2” embossed. Standard to the exterior are as such:
- Sculpted BMW kidney grille with vertical and diagonal kidney bars
- LED headlights and taillights
- Vertical day time running light bars
- Satin Aluminium Accents
- Anti-dazzle mirrors
- 18-inch Bicolour light alloy wheels
The car is available in three exterior colour options. This includes: Alpine White, Black Sapphire, and Cape York Green.


Inside, the new 2 Series Gran Coupe gets BMW’s latest Curved Display, combining a 10.7-inch infotainment screen with a 10.25-inch digital cluster and running on BMW Operating System 9, with support for over-the-air updates. The center console has also been redesigned and now includes integrated cupholders for added convenience. Standard interior features include:
- 10.7-inch infotainment display
- 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster
- BMW Operating System 9 with support for over-the-air software updates
- “Illuminated” Aluminium Graphite trim
- Automated air-conditioning
- Veganza perforated upholstery

The new 2 series Gran Coupe can also be optioned with BMW Digital Premium that allows for in-car video streaming, gaming, and access to music and podcast platforms.
BMW says the car now features a “newly developed” 1.5-litre turbocharged three cylinder engine running on the Miller cycle and designed with thermodynamics in mind. Performance specs are as such:
- Engine: 1.5-litre turbocharged three cylinder
- Transmission: Seven-speed Steptronic dual-clutch transmission
- Driveline: Front wheel drive
- Max horsepower: 156 hp
- Max torque: 230 Nm
- 0-100 km/h time: 8.6 seconds
- Top speed: 230 km/h
The driving dynamics of the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe have been enhanced with a range of new components. Up front, anti-roll bar with highly pre-tensioned anti-roll bar bearings have been fitted for improved stability and handling. The rear multi-link suspension is further refined with high-pressure stabilisers and optimised axle kinematics, aimed at improving both handling and ride comfort. Traction has also been improved thanks to the integrated ARB (actuator-related wheel slip limitation) system.

Safety wise, the new BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe comes standard with a slew of BMW driver assistance systems which include:
- Lane Change Warning
- Speed Limit Info
- Rear Crossing Traffic Alert with brake intervention
- Exit Warning
- Parking assistant
- Reversing assistant up to 50 metres

The car also features BMW’s Digital Key Plus that allows for drivers to use their smartphone devices as digital keys, allowing for keyless entry and engine start without removing the phone from their pocket.
The new CKD BMW 218 Gran Coupe Sport starts at an estimated retail price of RM241,000, including the BMW service and repair inclusive package. This package includes a five-year unlimited mileage warranty, along with five-year or 100,000km of service coverage.
