They say you can’t put a price on convenience, but it turns out maybe you can – and that price starts at RM133,900. That’s the starting price for the refreshed 2025 Honda Civic facelift in Malaysia and the convenience comes in the form of the upgraded infotainment display with Google Built-in, standard across the entire range.

Google Built-in is essentially a software suite for the on-board infotainment system, which gives you access to Google services such as Google Maps, Google Assistant, and the Google Play Store.
You can also download more apps, including Spotify and more, directly to your car from the Google Play Store. The app shortcuts will be lined up vertically on the right of the screen for easy access.

On the new 2025 Honda Civic facelift, apart from all variants getting Google Built-in, the touchscreen is now the bigger 9.0-inch unit and is standard for all. And despite its Google allegiance, Apple CarPlay connectivity is also still available in both wired and wireless configurations.
That’s all well and good, but why should you even care? Here are five reasons your motoring experience will be much smoother with Google Built-in.
1. Smartphone independent
You don’t need an Android phone to use Google Built-in but connecting one will smoothen the experience. That means you can get access to Google apps without the need for a smartphone.
2. Google Play apps
While the most used apps would be the likes of Google Maps, you can download other apps from the Google Play store to personalise your experience. This opens up hundreds of apps for you to use on the road, from things like Spotify to even games if you wish!
3. Real-time traffic info with Maps
Speaking of Google Maps, using it to navigate to your destination will give you real-time traffic data and rerouting based on improving congestion conditions, helping you get to your destination quicker. With the same Google account on your phone, directions can also be sent directly to your vehicle for convenience, saving you the hassle of having to manually enter the location using the screen.

4. Voice commands/hands-free
Of course, the highlight is the Google Assistant voice controls. You can speak commands and the Assistant will carry them out. Even the climate control can be adjusted handsfree via the Assistant so both hands can be kept safely on the steering wheel.
5. Compatible with Android Auto/Apple CarPlay
The system is still completely compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Furthermore, the refresh sees the integration of wireless Android Auto, whereas previously on Apple CarPlay could be activated wirelessly.
