Aston Martin is celebrating the new year by bringing us the new 2025 Aston Martin Vantage Roadster – because there’s no better way to enjoy the next 365 days (and beyond) around the sun than having your top down.
While it is technically based on the 2024 Vantage facelift from last year, Aston Martin says that it was actually developed in tandem with the coupe counterpart, rather than just chopping off its existing roof to turn it into a convertible, which supposedly means it made “zero compromises to performance”.
On paper, things are more or less the same for the 2025 Aston Martin Vantage Roadster compared to its coupe counterpart. It still keeps the 4.0-litre bi-turbo V8 engine churning out 665 hp and 800 Nm of torque to the rear wheels, it still uses an eight-speed automatic transmission and gearbox mountings, and it can still go from 0-100 km/h in 3.6 seconds, topping out at 325 km/h.
Further inheriting the features from 2024 Aston Martin Vantage, the 2025 Aston Martin Vantage Roadster still has massive 21-inch wheels wearing Michelin Pilot Sport S 5 tyres as well as 410mm carbon ceramic brakes. The same also goes for Active Vehicle Dynamics, Electronic Rear Differential (E-diff), Bilstein DTX adaptive dampers with bespoke tuning. The interior is also the same as the 2024 Aston Martin Vantage, too.

What’s different here, is of course, the fold down fabric roof – which according to Aston Martin, is not just any soft-top convertible roof. It now uses something called the ‘Z-fold’ configuration (no, not the Samsung phone), which helps make the convertible system lighter and faster than the previous ‘K-fold’.
Opening (or closing) the roof takes just 6.8 seconds to complete and can be done while driving at speeds of up to 50 km/h, which the company claims is the fastest convertible action on the market today.

The new ‘Z-fold’ configuration also eliminates the use of a tonneau cover, which means lighter weight and lower centre of gravity, only adding about 60 kg to its overall weight despite the additional structural braces to stiffen it up relative to the coupe.
In addition to the new ‘Z-fold’ configuration, it also gets a new aluminium roll-over structure and slight tweaks to the suspension system to account for the change in mass and weight distribution.
Deliveries of the 2025 Aston Martin Vantage Roadster is set to begin in Q2 2025, however pricing is yet to be confirmed by Aston Martin themselves.
