Chery’s Omoda E5 has been introduced in the Thai market under the Omoda brand name. The electric (EV) SUV, known as the Chery Omoda E5 in other regions, will be offered exclusively under the Omoda C5 label in Thailand. It will be provided in two variants: the Long Range Plus priced at 899,000 baht (approx. RM113,193) and the Long Range Ultimate priced at 949,000 baht (approx. RM119,488). In Thailand, the car comes with an 8-year/200,000 km warranty.
Dimension-wise, the Omoda C5 measures 4,424 mm in length, 1,830 mm in width, 1,588 mm in height, and is underpinned by a 2,630 mm wheelbase. It comes with a MacPherson strut front suspension and multi-link rear suspension.
Exterior-wise, the Omoda C5 comes standard with automatic projector LED headlamps, LED daytime running lights (DRL), LED fog lamps, LED taillights, a powered tailgate, auto wipers, side mirrors with defogger, remote opening windows and air-conditioning, and 18-inch wheels. Exclusive to the Long Range Ultimate variant are sequential rear turn signals, acoustic glass for the front windows, rear privacy glass, sunroof, puddle lamps, roof rails, and a vehicle-to-load (V2L) cable.
The Omoda C5 is equipped with a front-mounted electric motor producing 204 hp and 340 Nm. This powertrain enables a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 7.2 seconds and a top speed of 172 km/h. The vehicle’s 61 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, sourced from BYD, offers a range of 430 km based on the WLTP cycle and consumes approximately 15.5 kWh of energy per 100 km. For charging, the C5 has a three-phase onboard AC charger with a max rate of 9.9 kW, as well as DC fast charging of up to 80 kW. The AC is capable of getting the battery from 30% to 80% state of charge in 28 minutes.
Interior-wise, the C5 comes standard with a 6-way electrically adjustable driver seat, a ventilation system for front seats, a 4-way power-adjustable front passenger seat, 64-color ambient lighting systems, dual-zone climate control, a head-up display, two 12.3-inch screens, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, 50W wireless charging, and 6-speakers. Exclusive to the top variant is the 360-view camera including under-car view, and 8 speakers Sony sound system.
On the safety side, the Omoda C5 comes equipped with autonomous emergency braking (AEB), adaptive cruise control (ACC), front collision warning (FCW), multi-collision brake (MCB), rear collision warning (RCW), lane departure warning system (LDW), lane departure prevention system (LDP), blind-spot warning (BSW), and rear-cross traffic alert (RCTA).
