159 students graduate from Bermaz Auto Apprenticeship Programme 2023

Bermaz Auto has just celebrated the graduation of 159 students from its Bermaz Auto Apprenticeship Programme, which took place on September 8, 2023. The 159 graduates come from 3 different technical training programmes.

This consists of 43 graduates from the BAuto Apprenticeship Programme, 21 graduates from BAuto Mechanic Programme (BAMP), and 22 graduates from Mazda Master Technical and Non-Technical programmes. All graduates are currently employed under Bermaz Auto Berhad and will be placed at the service centres for the three brands the group operates, including Mazda, Peugeot, and Kia.

Mazda Saudi Arabia, the sole distributor of the Mazda brand under the Haji Hussein Alireza (HHA) in Saudi Arabia took notice of the apprenticeship programme’s success. This is due to Bermaz Auto being one of the Mazda distributors that offers an apprenticeship programme in Automotive and Body & Paint programme.

Mazda Saudi Arabia has also requested workforce support in Body & Paint through Mazda Corporation Japan. Through past collaboration with MARA Skills Insitute (IKM) on the Technical Intern Training Programme (TITP), Bermaz Auto has invited MARA to participate in the candidate submission and shortlisting.

The HHA representative conducted a virtual briefing and candidate selection, resulting in only four candidates being selected through practical tests and interview sessions. Two of the candidates were from the Bermaz Auto Apprenticeship Programme, while the other two were elected by MARA and IKM. The selected candidates had begun their career journey in Saudi Arabia with HHA.

Aside from the BAuto Apprenticeship Programme graduation, 29 staff from the company were certified from the IMI EV Certification Level 3 and Level 4. Out of the 29 staff, four staff members were certified with Level 3 certification, while 25 staff members received Level 4 certification from the UK Accreditation body, The Institute of Motor Industry (IMI), through theoretical and practical assessment by UK EV Certified trainers.

Bermaz Auto, in the distribution and provision of after-sales services of the brands it represents, namely Mazda, Kia, and Peugeot, has been actively developing human capital by engaging staff in electric vehicle (EV) training at both local and abroad programmes.
