BMW 6 Series GT gets 620d variant, 2.0L turbodiesel with 190 hp & 400 Nm

BMW has added a new entry-level variant to its 6 Series Gran Turismo (GT) line up, the BMW 620d GT. With the new addition of the four-cylinder diesel engine, it brings the total powertrain options available for the 6 Series GT to five.

The N47 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbodiesel and eight-speed Steptronic automatic combo – the same one found in the F30 320d – generates 190 hp at 4,000 rpm and 400 Nm of torque between 1,750 to 2,500 rpm. The oil burner 6 Series GT is capable of sprinting from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.9 seconds while sipping 4.9 litres of diesel per 100 km. V-Max is quoted to be 220 km/h.

All suspension options including Adaptive Two-Axle Air Suspension, Integral Active Steering and the Executive Drive system with Active Roll Stabilisation are available for the 620d GT. So are wheel options ranging from 19- to 20-inch in size as well as multiple trim limes.

BMW Malaysia has confirmed that the G32 BMW 6 Series GT will be coming to Malaysia to replace the outgoing 5 Series GT. Knowing that the company has quietly phased out diesel variants in their line up in favour of cleaner plug-in hybrid iPerformance models, we may not see the 620d GT to hit our local shores.
