The Bridgestone Potenza Adrenalin RE004 has built a strong reputation within the enthusiast crowd, so now, six years later, Bridgestone Malaysia is hoping to further solidify its footing with the ‘touge-kakis‘ with the launch of the iconic series’ fifth-generation model, the RE005.
And to do that, Bridgestone says the Potenza Adrenalin RE005 has improved upon its predecessor in all aspects, while retaining the signature sporty driving characteristics of the Adrenalin lineup developed through the company’s involvement in motorsports.
The big upgrade here is in the form of wet grip and braking performance – a common complaint we’ve heard from users of the RE004. Bridgestone claims up to a 10% improvement in the wet, achieved thanks to a redesigned tread featuring the advanced rain pulse groove, which improves water drainage and thus reducing the occurrence of hydroplaning.
The new advanced rubber compound is also grippier and more responsive in all conditions – Bridgestone also claims an 8% improvement in dry grip – while also providing improved heat resistance and reduced rolling resistance, thus increasing the tyre’s life.

To keep the smiles on drivers’ faces as the tyre age, the Bridgestone Potenza Adrenalin RE005 also adopts a multi-round block design that ensures wider and consistent tyre contact pressures as the tread wears down.
The wide block design also helps distribute pressure evenly, translating to more grip, and is complemented by the connecting blocks and the iconic “A”-shaped groove for a more direct and responsive steering feel, alongside added stability in the corners.
Bridgestone Malaysia says the new Potenza Adrenalin RE005 is designed for a wide range of vehicles, including “sporty sedans, performance cars,” and even EVs, the latter thanks to the brand’s Enliten technology. In fact, the tyre was also designed specifically for the Asia Pacific market, catering to our diverse roads, vehicle requirements, and weather conditions.

The new performance-oriented tyre is now available at selected authorised Bridgestone dealers nationwide, and is offered in a total of 46 sizes, covering wheel diameters from 15 to 20 inches. Recommended retail prices starts from RM351 to RM1,543 per piece.
