Bridgestone’s successor to the touge-kaki-favourite RE004 is finally here! Making its regional debut in Thailand recently, the Bridgestone Potenza Adrenalin RE005 promises to bring even better sporty performance into everyday driving conditions with improved wet traction, wear life, and agile handling feel. Given the popularity of the RE004 here, expect the new tyres to also make its way to Malaysia soon.
Developed under the concept of “Maximising Driving Pleasure”, Bridgestone says the new RE005 improves upon its predecessor with up to an 8% enhancement in dry grip, and 10% in wet grip, translating to better handling and confidence across a wider range of driving conditions.
These improvements are achieved by multiple factors, including a new tread design that integrates a wide block pattern which distributes pressure more evenly; connecting blocks that are optimised for cornering stability; the iconic “A”-shaped groove that offers more precise and predictable handling feel, and a wide inside rib for enhanced responsiveness especially during corner turn-in.
To aid with wet-weather driving, the RE005 employs a “rain pulse groove” to help expel water and reduce the occurence of hydroplaning. This works in conjunction with a new advanced rubber compound that Bridgestone says boosts grip and responsiveness in all conditions, while also providing improved heat resistance and precise handling characteristics, lower rolling resistance (for improved fuel efficiency), and enhancing wear life.
Last but not least is the “Multi-Round Block” design, which helps optimise contact pressure at the shoulder and ensuring performance consistency even when the tyre tread wears down.
The Bridgestone Potenza Adrenalin RE005 is also made for a wide variety of vehicles, from your sports cars to compact sedans and even electric vehicles (EVs) – perfect for the performance EV owners looking for a sportier driving experiences.
In Thailand, the all-new RE005 will be available in sizes ranging from 14- to 20-inches in diameter. It’ll be sold in “selected markets across the Asia Pacific region” starting 2026, although size availability may differ by market.
