Lotus’s first PHEV’s name, For Me, is perhaps a little odd to put it lightly. But thankfully, that name won’t be making it outside the country. For its European debut, the model will instead be called the Lotus Eletre X, introducing the marque’s new “breakthrough platform” X-Hybrid technology.
Opening the bonnet reveals that the front storage compartment is gone. In its place sits a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine, paired with front and rear electric motors that produce a combined 952 hp and 935 Nm of torque.
Power is sent to all four wheels, allowing the Lotus Eletre X to sprint from 0-100 km/h in just 3.3 seconds — seriously impressive for a vehicle of this size. Even with around 20% battery remaining, Lotus says the system can still deliver up to 748 hp.
The hybrid system is supported by a 70 kWh battery pack. Thanks to a 900V electrical architecture, the battery can charge from 20-80% in just nine minutes using a 150 kW DC charger. This allows the Lotus Eletre X to travel up to 350 km (WLTP) on electric power alone, while total combined range stretches to 1,200 km (WLTP).

These figures are roughly comparable to the base version of the Zeekr 9X. However, higher-spec variants of that SUV produce up to 1,381 hp and 1,410 Nm, given their close relationship under the Geely group, could mean that Lotus Eletre X could eventually receive an even more aggressive version in the future.
No images of the interior have been shared so far, but it is expected to remain largely identical to the existing Lotus Eletre. This means a 15.1-inch full HD OLED central display, paired with dual 12.6-inch screens for the driver and front passenger, along with a 29-inch head-up display.
Lotus has also mentioned several optional features, including a 2,160-watt, 23-speaker KEF sound system, a PDLC dimming panoramic sunroof with 10 levels of transparency, and Nappa leather upholstery.

There’s no confirmation yet if this new hybrid version will be coming to our shores. But if the Lotus Eletre has already caught your eye, the all-electric model is currently priced in Malaysia from RM499,000 to RM839,000, depending on the variant.
Kicking off the range in Malaysia is the Lotus Eletre 600 series, featuring dual electric motors that power all four wheels and produce 612 hp, enabling a 0-100 km/h sprint in just 4.5 seconds. Stepping up the range is the Eletre 900 series, which packs even more potent motors producing 918 hp, cutting the century sprint down to just 2.95 seconds.
Both variants are fitted with the same 112 kWh battery pack, delivering up to 600 km of range (WLTP) in the 600 series, while the more powerful 900 series manages around 500 km, likely due to its higher performance output.
