Tesla Malaysia has confirmed that prices for the Tesla Model 3 and Model Y in Malaysia will remain unchanged for 2026, despite the tax exemptions for fully imported (CBU) electric vehicles (EV) expiring on December 31, 2025.
The unchanged prices are applicable for “2026 new Custom Orders Vehicle”, which will be built to order in its Shanghai Gigafactory in China, based on your specifications made on the configurator on its website. Orders made today are expected to be delivered from February 2026 onwards.
Here in Malaysia, the Tesla Model 3 is offered in four variants in total, including the new Long Range RWD introduced in October 2025, priced from RM170,700 on-the-road and before insurance. The Model Y, meanwhile, comes in two variants, priced from RM197,150 on-the-road, without insurance.
The company also offers pre-configured “inventory” units through its website, sometimes at discounts as steep as RM14k. Presumably, these are vehicles that have entered the country before the December 28, 2025 deadline.

In a statement, the company says that Malaysia remains an important market for Tesla. As such, it will be continuing its investments in the market and “commit to accelerate the transition to sustainable energy”. To that end, the company has expanded its presence to Kuching, Sarawak, via a Pop-Up display at Vivacity Megamall that began yesterday.
Additionally, it will also be further expanding its Tesla Charging Network, with several charging sites slated to be opened in 2026 including Nexus Bangsar South and Quayside Mall. The company currently operates 18 Supercharging stations and 17 Destination Charging locations, comprising 76 Superchargers and 79 Destination Chargers.
As part of the company’s agreement with the government as part of the Ministry of Investment, Trade, and Industry’s BEV Global Leaders initiative, Tesla are required to establish at least 50 Superchargers by 2026, with 30% of those accessible to EVs of other makes. Tesla Malaysia’s PR representative did not provide a comment on the status of the agreement.
