Zeekr Malaysia celebrated its 2,000th unit delivery milestone over the weekend, exactly one year since the brand officially entered the Malaysian market with the launch of the Zeekr X and Zeekr 009 in December 2024.
The 2,000th Zeekr delivered in Malaysia is a Zeekr 7X AWD Performance, boasting a twin-motor powertrain with 646 hp (475 kW) and 710 Nm. It accelerates from 0-100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds and offers a range of 543 km (WLTP) with its 100 kWh battery. The lucky owner? None other than iconic Malaysian artiste Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza Tarudin.
Zeekr Malaysia General Manager, Eddy Lu, said “Reaching 2,000 owners in a year is no small feat for us at Zeekr and serves as a reflection of the trust Malaysians have placed in Zeekr and our promise to deliver not just cars, but an unparalleled vehicle ownership experience.”
“We will continue to raise the bar in sales and aftersales services, ensuring every Zeekr journey is synonymous with luxury and peace of mind,” he added.
To maintain this sales momentum, the carmaker has announced a roadmap to establish a total of 18 showrooms nationwide by 2026. This expansion aims to move beyond the Klang Valley and will include new locations in Ipoh, Melaka, Johor Bahru, and Ampang. The plan also incorporates more than 10 dedicated service centres that will be operational by 2026, and will feature specialised body and paint facilities.
Further cementing the brand’s local presence, the company is also reportedly setting up its local assembly (CKD) production operations at the Automotive High-Tech Valley (AHTV) in Tanjung Malim, Perak, according to press materials from local carmaker Proton during the launch of the latter’s new EV factory.
Zeekr, however, has still not revealed any information on its plans, including the timeline of the project nor if it will be establishing its own independent assembly plant or utilise Proton’s existing facility at the location.
