Kineta and Solarvest partner on clean energy and solar EV charging solutions

Kineta, a subsidiary of Sime, has formed a strategic alliance with Solarvest Holdings Berhad and its subsidiaries, Powerbee Sdn Bhd and Vestech Energy Sdn Bhd. The tripartite partnership aims to enhance accessibility to clean energy-powered EV charging facilities and promote renewable energy adoption among residential and corporate customers.

The collaboration was announced today at the iGEM 2025 Conference and Exhibition at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, with the signing ceremony officiated by Solarvest Holdings Berhad Executive Director and Group CEO, Dato’ Davis Chong, and Kineta’s Sunny Lee.

Through Solarvest’s Powerbee arm, the companies will explore joint development opportunities for solar-integrated EV charging stations, green mobility hubs, and corporate sustainability solutions.

The collaboration will also extend to residential customers through Vestech’s home energy solutions, with Vestech providing comprehensive training and technical support to Kineta’s sales and service teams.

The companies say this strategic partnership aligns with Malaysia’s National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR), which aims to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050. The plan outlines a gradual increase in renewable energy shares, targeting 31% by 2025, 40% by 2035, and 70% by 2050.

“This collaboration is more than a partnership — it’s a commitment to building a sustainable ecosystem that combines clean mobility with renewable energy in Malaysia,” said Kineta Managing Director, Sunny Lee.

“With Kineta joining forces with Solarvest, we are offering a powerful synergy that supports our shared mission of driving decarbonisation in Malaysia,” he added.

Kineta has recently signed a memorandum of understanding with Charge+ in a bid to expand its EV charging network within the country.
