BMW Group Malaysia reaffirms its support for the Malaysian government’s sustainability initiatives by providing a fleet of electric vehicles (EVs) for the ASEAN-Malaysia Chairmanship 2025.
As such, BMW Group Malaysia will provide a fleet comprising the BMW i5 eDrive40 M Sport and the BMW i7 xDrive60 M Sport for government use during the ASEAN 2025 Chairmanship.
This initiative aligns with Malaysia’s National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR) and serves as a model for other ASEAN Member States to pursue similar sustainable collaborations. Furthermore, it directly supports the chairmanship’s theme of “Inclusivity and Sustainability.”
For the chairmanship, officials will be chauffeured in the BMW i5 eDrive40 M Sport. The vehicle is equipped with a rear-mounted electric motor producing 340 hp and 430 Nm of torque, allowing it to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 6.0 seconds and reach a top speed of 193 km/h.
It features an 81 kWh battery pack that provides a range of up to 501 km (WLTP) and supports 205 kW DC fast charging, which can replenish the battery from 10-80% in just 30 minutes.

On the BMW i7 xDrive60 M Sport, it has a 536 hp and 745 Nm dual-motor powertrain that allows a century sprint in 4.7 seconds and onwards to an electronically limited top speed of 240 km/h.
Equipped with a 101 kWh battery pack, the i7 xDrive60 M Sport boasts a range of 625 km (WLTP) and supports 11 kW AC charging and 195 kW DC charging, enabling a 10-80% recharge in 34 minutes.
