Audi’s second “TT moment” is here, and it’s an EV coupe called the Concept C

Audi has pulled the sheets off the new Audi Concept C, a futuristic two-door, all-electric concept sports car that previews a new design philosophy for future models. According to the folks from Ingolstadt, the Audi Concept C is also a direct preview of a future production model slated to debut in 2027.

Dubbed by Audi as their “TT Moment 2.0,” the company says the Concept C demonstrates “radical simplicity,” which will be the core of the new design philosophy featured in future Audi models.

Naturally, the Audi Concept C sports a very minimalist design. This includes a new vertical frame for the front grille that will serve as the new brand face for all future Audi models, with barely any air vents save for two vertical intakes at the front; very simple lighting elements that use only a single strip instead of complex headlight and tailight designs, and even forgoes a rear windshield in favour of window louvres.

Audi says the Concept C is inspired by the 1936 Auto Union Type C race car and the third-generation Audi A6. The whole body of the Concept C looks as if it were milled from a single block of metal due to its smooth and clean body lines.

Oh, and did we mention that it’s also a convertible with a removable roof? With the presence of realistic panel gaps, side mirrors, and even a cutout for a number plate on the rear bumper, the Audi Concept C actually looks very production-ready.

The simplicity of the exterior is carried over to the inside, which features a very clean and minimalist design. Climate functions are handled by touch-capacitive controls on the dashboard, while the steering wheel houses controls made from anodised aluminium, which Audi claims offer its signature “Audi Click” haptic feedback.

Despite the simple aesthetic, Audi didn’t skimp on the tech. The driver gets what appears to be a two-tier digital gauge cluster, while the dashboard cleverly hides a foldable 10.4-inch infotainment display.

Audi did not release any powertrain specifications for the Concept C. But if you’re wondering if this two-door concept will be a preview of the next-generation Audi TT – sorry, the answer is no. Audi CEO Gernot Döllner has previously stated that the production version of this concept will carry its own unique nameplate and will be an entirely new addition to Audi’s lineup when it debuts in 2027, rather than a direct replacement for the TT.
