The all-electric Porsche Macan, unveiled globally in January last year, has now received its first minor update for the 2026 model year, offering new creature comforts inside the SUV. The main highlight here is the introduction of games from developers like Gameloft and Obscure Interactive, which are now offered in the Porsche app store.
This new feature allows you to play games on the Macan’s main infotainment display and the optional front passenger’s display. For safety reasons, this is obviously only possible when the car is stationary when parked, such as while waiting for it to charge. The games can be controlled using either a smartphone or a dedicated gaming controller.
Front passengers are particularly lucky. According to Porsche, they can use their dedicated display to access apps even while the car is driving, without distracting the driver. For an even homier setting, they can also connect Bluetooth headphones for an undisturbed listening experience.
The update also introduces the Porsche Digital Key, which allows owners to use their iPhone, Apple Watch, or a compatible Android device as a car key. The system uses Near Field Communication (NFC), Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), and Ultra-Wideband (UWB) technology to unlock the Macan.

Owners can even share their digital car keys with up to seven other users via Apple Wallet or a native wallet app on Android through services like Apple Mail, Messages, and WhatsApp. They also have the ability to set which of these digital keys has access to the car or the ability to drive it.
Through the My Porsche App, owners can even control the Macan’s powered tailgate and frunk, although this would require the optional Porsche Connect package.
Also new in the updated Porsche Macan is an enhanced suite of ADAS features, which can now be optioned with a new Surround View assistance system that includes Active Parking Support. The Surround View system uses four new high-resolution cameras to provide a 360-degree view of the car’s surroundings.
As its name suggests, the Active Parking Support feature helps the driver park in parallel or perpendicular spaces. It can even be trained in a familiar environment, like a home garage, allowing the car to automatically park itself while the driver remains in the driver’s seat.
Other new features introduced with this new camera hardware include a transparent bonnet view and a reversing assistant, which remembers routes of up to 50 metres and offers safe, automated reversing.
Additionally, Porsche says that the Voice Pilot voice control feature is now smarter. With the integration of artificial intelligence (AI), it can now understand complex, interrelated questions and recognise context. The company even says this feature can be used to answer questions about the vehicle’s use from the on-board manual, simply by voice command.
The Porsche Charging Planner has also been optimised, and owners can now prioritise or exclude individual charging stations when planning their journey.
Alongside the new digital and assistance features, Porsche is also expanding the range of individualisation possibilities for the Macan. These include new personalisation options for the door sill guards and LED door courtesy lights.
Furthermore, the towing capacity for the all-wheel-drive variants has also been increased from 2,000 kg to 2,500 kg. This can be retroactively enabled for vehicles that have already been delivered in selected markets.
Porsche says the updated Macan will be introduced by the end of the year, with the changeover for the first models in Germany starting in autumn 2025. A Porsche Malaysia spokesperson said that availability and pricing information of the updated Macan is not available yet, but given that the EV SUV is imported directly from Europe, we should also be seeing these changes soon after it becomes available there.
For now, the electric Porsche Macan is available in four variants: the Macan, Macan 4, Macan 4S, and Macan Turbo, with prices starting from RM430,000 to RM635,000.
