2025 BMW X5 xDrive40i M Sport facelift launched in Malaysia — RM508k, CKD, inline-6 MHEV

BMW Malaysia has launched the new 2025 BMW X5 xDrive40i M Sport in Malaysia with a recommended retail price of RM508,200 on-the-road, without insurance, and with BMW’s Service and Repair Inclusive (BSRI) package.

Previously only available as the X5 xDrive50e plug-in-hybrid (PHEV), the X5 xDrive40i M Sport marks the return of “The Boss” in Malaysia as an internal combustion variant in the facelifted model line-up. Under the bonnet sits a 3.0-litre turbocharged inline six-cylinder engine supported by a 48-volt mild-hybrid system, producing 381 hp and 540 Nm of torque — 41 hp and 90 Nm more than the predecessor.

Power is sent to all four wheels via the BMW xDrive all-wheel drive system and an eight-speed automatic transmission. This allows the car to complete the 0-100 km/h sprint in just 5.4 seconds with a top speed of 250 km/h

Styling updates are inline with the life-cycle impulse (LCI) update as seen on the xDrive50e, which include slimmer headlights with new daytime running light (DRL) designs, BMW’s Iconic Glow kidney grille, and new three-dimensional X-shaped taillights at the rear. The car now rides on 21-inch 915 Bicolour M light alloy wheels, paired with BMW M Sport brakes for adequate stopping power.

Inside, the dashboard features the BMW Curved Display, which combines a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 14.9-inch central infotainment display under a single pane of glass. The system runs on BMW Operating System 8.5 and is supported by a full-colour heads-up display.

The seats are now upholstered in “Sensafin” faux leather and are complemented with Fineline Black wood trim and an M leather steering wheel. Other creature comforts include a 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, a panoramic sunroof, four-zone climate control, a wireless charger, and retractable sunblinds for the rear seats.

The new 2025 BMW X5 xDrive40i M Sport facelift is priced from RM508,200 on-the-road, and without insurance. Without the package, the price for the BMW X5 xDrive40i M Sport drops to RM469,800.

Along with this, BMW Malaysia has also updated the price of the BMW X5 xDrive50e PHEV to RM533,200 on-the-road, without insurance, and inclusive of the BSRI package. Without the package, the price drops to RM494,800.
