The 2024 BMW X5 facelift has been launched in Malaysia in the guise of the X5 xDrive50e M Sport and it costs RM528,100 with the BMW Service & Repair Inclusive, which includes a 5-year extended warranty and service package. There is only one variant of the X5 and it is proudly locally assembled (CKD) in Malaysia.
The 2024 facelift introduces a refreshed exterior to the flagship SUV from Munich. For Malaysia, the X5 xDrive50e is equipped with the M Sport package as standard which adds a sportier set of wheels, sportier bumpers as well as M Sport badges on the front fenders.
Being a plug-in hybrid, the BMW X5 xDrive50 e houses a 3.0-litre inline-6 petrol engine and an electric motor that both produce a combined maximum output of 489 hp and 700 Nm. This setup enables a 4.8-second 0-100 km/h acceleration time for the flagship SUV.
On electric power alone, the X5 xDrive50e has a range of up to 110 km. The plug-in hybrid system can also be charged at a maximum rate of 7.4 kW with AC charging.
Inside, the BMW X5 xDrive50e M Sport LCI in Malaysia is fitted with equipment such as the BMW Curved Display which features a 12.3-inch digital instrument display and a 14.9-inch infotainment display, running on the BMW Operating System 8.5.
Also included with the SUV is the brand’s “Merino” full-grain leather upholstery, with two colour options offered – Black and Tartufo (brown), together with an ambient lighting system. The X5 xDrive50e also sports BMW’s newly designed gear selector lever, along with a Harman Kardon Surround sound system.
In the safety department, BMW has packed the X5 xDrive50e M Sport LCI with a series of driver assistance systems. This includes the Driving Assistant Professional and the Parking Assistant Professional, among other features.
Without the BMW Service & repair Inclusive, the 2024 BMW X5 xDrive50e facelift in Malaysia costs RM486,800 (the Inclusive package costs RM41,300). The Inclusive Package adds a 5-Year Extended Warranty and Service Package.
