2025 Mazda 3 1.5G High Plus now open for booking in Malaysia – from est. RM120k, ADAS included

Bermaz Motor will soon be introducing a new variant of the Mazda 3 in Malaysia for 2025, reintroducing the 1.5-litre powertrain for the model here on our shores. Dubbed the 1.5G High Plus, the new variant will be available in Sedan and Liftback guises, with order books now open at an estimated starting price of RM119,620.

Based on the booking webpage, the new Mazda 3 1.5G High Plus will be fully imported (CBU) from Japan. At that price point, the Mazda 3 1.5G High Plus will come in some RM29,700 cheaper than the previous 1.5-litre variant of the Mazda 3, and will also be significantly cheaper than both the entry-level Honda Civic 1.5L E (RM133,900) and Toyota Corolla G (RM144,800).

Despite having a significant price reduction, the new Mazda 3 1.5G High Plus variant – which will be fully imported from Japan – appears to still be decently equipped, based on the specifications shared on the booking website.

For starters, the 1.5G High Plus will be equipped with a suite of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). Currently, the cheapest Mazda 3 that comes with ADAS is the 2.0-litre High Plus variant, priced from RM166,059.

The exact feature set wasn’t announced, but we expect the 1.5G High Plus’s ADAS features to include Mazda Radar Cruise Control (MRCC) with stop and go functionality, cruising and traffic support, lane keep assist system, and front cross traffic alert system, similar to its elder sibling in the line-up.

Other new trimmings for the new Mazda 3 1.5G High Plus variant include leather seats with memory function, a wireless phone charger, and a 10.25-inch infotainment display with wireless Apple CarPlay – the latter introduced with the Mazda 3 facelift in 2023.

Furthermore, the 1.5G High Plus will be equipped with keyless entry, automatic rain-sensing wipers, and LED signature lighting. Exterior colours, based on the booking site, include a selection from Soul Red Crystal, Machine Grey, Snowflake White Pearl, Deep Crystal Blue, Jet Black, Polymetal Grey, and Platinum Quartz.

Previously discontinued for the Mazda 3 as part of the model’s facelift update in Malaysia back in 2023, the SkyActiv-G 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated engine is capable of generating 118 hp and 153 Nm of torque. We don’t expect output figures to change in the 2025 model, and as before, it will come equipped with the GVC Plus torque vectoring system for a more jinba ittai driving feel.
