Remember the Mazda CX-60 that was previewed at last year’s 2024 Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show (KLIMS 2024)? Bermaz Motor has now opened the order books for the CX-60 in Malaysia via Mazda Malaysia’s website, with an estimated starting price of RM200,510.
Based on the booking website, the Mazda CX-60 in Malaysia will be offered in one single variant, fully-imported (CBU) from Japan, and available in five exterior colours: Soul Red Crystal, Jet Black, Zircon Sand, Platinum Quartz, and Rhodium White.
That’s about all the information that was stated on the booking site, although the provided price list suggests the Mazda CX-60 will be powered by a 2.5-litre engine.
Referencing the Mazda CX-60 sold in Japan, this could likely be the 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine that delivers 188 hp and 250 Nm of torque to the front wheels via an eight-speed automatic gearbox.

If this is true, this means that the Malaysian market will miss out on the new range of 3.3-litre straight-six engines that was introduced together with the marque’s new SUV line-up, available in either petrol or diesel configurations, both with mild-hybrid assistance.
In global markets, the Mazda CX-60 is also available with plug-in hybrid powertrains (PHEV). This setup combines a 2.5-litre naturally-aspirated inline-four engine with an electric motor for a combined output of 327 hp and 500 Nm. With the onboard 17.8 kWh battery pack, the PHEV variant of the CX-60 can travel up to 71 km based on the WLTC test cycle in Japan.
Designed on Mazda’s new Skyactiv Multi-Solution Scalable Architecture, the Mazda CX-60 is positioned as part of Mazda’s latest Large Product range. Mazda intends for this new range of Mazda vehicles to compete against the more upmarket rivals, including the likes of the BMW X3, Mercedes-Benz GLC, and Volvo XC60.
The exterior design features the company’s latest iteration of its Kodo design language, whereas the interior features luxurious trimmings such as two-tone leather upholstery, rough-out leather on the dashboard, and open-pore wooden veneers.
We expect the official launch of the Mazda CX-60 in Malaysia to happen shortly. So stay tuned for our official launch coverage!
