Chery is on a roll at the ongoing Malaysia Autoshow 2025 as it previewed the Chery Tiggo 7 CSH PHEV, the latest model under the Chery Super Hybrid umbrella.
“A rose by any other name would smell as sweet” and the context here is that the hybrid powertrain in the Tiggo 7 CSH is the very same from its sister brand, Jaecoo and its J7 PHEV.
Therefore, you’ll find a 1.5-litre turbocharged inline-four with 143 hp and 215 Nm of torque on its own, mated to an electric motor with 204 hp and 310 Nm of torque. Combined, the system is rated at 347hp and 525 Nm of torque, all driving the front wheels via a single-speed dedicated hybrid transmission (DHT).
The electric motor is fed by a 18.3 kWh BYD-sourced Blade lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery that Chery claims can propel the Tiggo 7 CSH purely on electricity for 95 km. A full take will net you a range in excess of 1,200 km. Combined fuel consumption is an astonishing 1.3 litres per 100 km.
Being a PHEV, the Tiggo 7 CSH supports up to 40 kW of DC fast charging and is able to juice the battery up from 30% to 80% in 19 minutes. AC charging of up to 6.6 kW will take three hours to fill the battery. Finally, the powertrain has a vehicle-to-load (V2L) functionality as well to power external devices.
Cosmetically, the model displayed at the show bears an updated design from the model’s latest facelift unveiled last year, with the entire front end essentially carried over from the Tiggo 8 Pro that sees the familiar trapezoidal LED headlights and octagonal grille that is blocked off. At the rear, the taillight spans the entire width of the SUV with S-shaped elements within. The wheels are dual-tone 18-inch items.

Stepping into the cabin, the interior remains largely unchanged from the regular, pure-petrol variant. However, apart from the hybrid powertrain, the Tiggo 7 CSH also borrowed the steering wheel from the J7. Completing the interior is a crystal transmission selector.
The equipment list reads as such” sequential indicators, double-glazed windows, dual-zone climate control with rear vents, panoramic roof, keyless entry and start, power adjustable front seats with memory function for the driver, an eight-speaker Sony audio system, powered tailgate, and a 50W Qi wireless charger.
As with most modern cars, there are two screens. Both are 12.3-inch units, with one serving as a digital instrument cluster and the other for the infotainment system, with the latter offering Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
Safety comes in the form of autonomous emergency braking, active cruise control with stop and go, lane centring assist, rear cross traffic alert with auto braking and a door opening warning.
Expect the Tiggo 7 CSH to be launched here in Malaysia in H2 2025, marking the debut of the “CSH” family here in Malaysia.
