Chery Corporate Malaysia (Chery Malaysia) has donated RM50,000 to the Putra Heights mosque, which is currently providing shelter for victims affected by the devastating fire on April 1.
The donation was handed over to the Manager of the Putra Heights Mosque, Abdul Hadi Hidzan, by Chery Corporate Malaysia Executive Vice President Leo Chen, and Chery Corporate Malaysia Vice President Cheng Nam Weng.
In attendance at the mock cheque ceremony were Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari, Minister of Digital Gobind Singh Deo, and Selangor State Exco for Investment, Trade and Mobility Ng Sze Han.
Additionally, the company has also handed over the keys to the first 25 Chery vehicles of its 50-vehicle temporary loan program, which will last for one month.
The carmaker announced that the remaining vehicles will be handed over early next week and in addition, will also be providing RM100 in fuel assistance to each vehicle recipient.

This vehicle loan program is coordinated by the offices of Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari, Selangor State Exco for Investment, Trade and Mobility Ng Sze Han, and the local authorities overseeing the relief efforts.
Chery Malaysia is one of several companies, including used car marketplace Carro, Proton, and Tan Chong Motor, that have pledged to provide temporary vehicle assistance to affected residents.
