In response to the devastating Putra Heights fire yesterday, Chery Corporate Malaysia (Chery) has announced a vehicle loan programme encompassing 50 vehicles to assist affected families, offering temporary transportation to help them regain stability and receive essential services.
Additionally, Chery will also be working closely with the offices of Selangor Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari, Selangor State Exco for Investment, Trade and Mobility YB Ng Sze Han, and local authorities overseeing the relief efforts to coordinate the programme. This will run for “a period of time”, allowing affected families the necessary time to arrange permanent transportation solutions.

According to the official statement from Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari, the inferno caused by the gas pipeline explosion resulted in 78 houses being heavily damaged by fire, as well as 10 shop lots completely destroyed – 180 residents from Taman Harmoni and Kampung Kuala Sungai Baru have been displaced as a result of the damages. Additionally, 327 vehicles have also been damaged by the fire.
