Malaysia’s sole authorised Ford distributor and dealership, Sime Darby Auto ConneXion(SDAC), has brought back home a new award recognising its outstanding community service. Taking home the “Salute the Dealers 2025” award, SDAC is one of the six dealerships recognised globally for its outstanding community service initiatives.
The international award cements SDAC’s dedication to their corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives. These initiatives taken by SDAC includes education, healthcare, elderly welfare, food security, and environmental sustainability, among others.
“We are truly honoured to take home the ‘Salute the Dealers’ award. This recognition demonstrates our ongoing efforts to support Malaysian communities and drive positive social change centred on education, public health, well-being and environmental sustainability, said SDAC Managing Director, Turse Zuhair.
“As the sole distributor of Ford vehicles in Malaysia, our CSR initiatives are guided by Sime’s core value of care for all, ensuring that we provide tangible and lasting solutions for sustainable and thriving communities,” he added.
Among the CSR initiatives taken by SDAC include the Clean Water Project in collaboration with MyFundAction, with the aim to provide clean water to underserved communities in Gerik, Perak.
SDAC also started The Lost Food Project together with Ford Philanthropy, in which the carmaker contributed USD45,000 (approx. RM199k) to rescue surplus food and redistributing them to vulnerable communities.
Most recently, the company launched the Ford Mobile Clinic, in which SDAC worked together with Yayasan Sime Darby, Ford Philanthropy, and MyFundAction to provide basic and much needed crucial healthcare services to rural areas in Malaysia.
These healthcare services include outpatient care, emergency support, health screenings, group immunisations, infectious disease awareness campaigns, providing medication for minor sicknesses, and promoting health education and proactive health management.
