Jetour, a subsidiary of Chery, announced during a media event today that it will launch its first model in Malaysia soon with the Jetour Dashing. This will be a locally-assembled (CKD) model and is expected to launch locally by Q1 2025, according to Jetour International, Vice President, Kevin Xu.
First previewed at the Malaysia Autoshow 2024, the Jetour Dashing will compete against established rivals like the Honda CR-V and Proton X70, as well as fellow Chinese compatriots (and relatives…) like the Jaecoo J7, in the highly competitive mid-size SUV segment.
Available in two variants: Prime and Signature, the Jetour Dashing will be powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine producing 156 hp and 230 Nm for both variants. This powertrain is paired with a six-speed dual-clutch transmission.
The aptly named Dashing has an exterior that certainly lives up to its name, especially the front end. With sleek daytime running lights (DRLs) and a prominent front grille, it looks like a Lamborghini Urus from certain angles.
Inside, you can expect to find an interior featuring a 10.25-inch central display, supporting Apple Carplay and Android Auto. The driver gets a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster. Other interior features reportedly include rear air-con vents, wireless charging pads and a refrigerated centre console.

The Signature variant of the Jetour Dashing will reportedly be equipped with several advance safety features, which includes blind spot monitoring, lane departure warning, and rear-cross traffic alert. Tyre pressure monitoring system and cruise control are standard on both variants of the Jetour Dashing.
Prices for the Jetour Dashing are not available at the time of writing, but it won’t be long until we find out its sticker price here in Malaysia!
