It’s been quite a wait, but the all-new sixth-generation Mitsubishi Triton has finally arrived in Malaysia. The latest iteration of the popular pickup truck will be offered in five variants, including a high-riding workhorse single-cab variant. Pricing starts at RM101,980, with double cab variants beginning at RM114,980.
The sixth-generation Mitsubishi Triton has adopted a new muscular styling language, which the company has dubbed “Beast Mode Design”. It’s characterised by straighter lines and squarer corners, most notably around the front grille, wheel arches, as well as the previously-iconic J-shaped line behind the cab.
Inside, the all-new Mitsubishi Triton also inherits the Beast Mode concept with brutish dashboard design, though still not discounting on luxuries. On the higher-end variants, interior appointments include leather or suede upholstery, dual-zone climate control, powered driver seat, as well as an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.

The sixth-generation Mitsubishi Triton is powered by a new 2.4-litre four-cylinder turbodiesel mill, now available in two power outputs. The range-topping Athlete variant gets the full shebang, with an exclusive MIVEC two-stage turbocharger bringing the power outputs up to 204 hp and 470 Nm.
Also exclusive to the Athlete variant is the Super Select 4WD-II system, alongside drive mode controls and the Active Yaw Control (AYC) inherited from the Lancer Evolution. All other variants get only 184 hp and 430 Nm, paired to the Easy Select 4WD system. Depending on variant, the powertrain is also available with either a six-speed automatic or six-speed manual gearbox.
The 2024 Mitsubishi Triton is available in five variants in both Single Cab and Double cab configurations, with prices (on-the-road, without insurance) as follows:
- Mitsubishi Triton Single Cab – RM101,980
- Mitsubishi Triton GL MT – RM114,980
- Mitsubishi Triton GL AT – RM116,980
- Mitsubishi Triton Premium AT – RM145,980
- Mitsubishi Triton Athlete – RM165,980
MMM calls these prices “introductory”, and are applicable for vehicles registered before December 31, 2024. A final official pricing has not yet been announced.
