Video: 2024 Subaru Outback facelift – 2.4 Turbo and 2.5 NA engines from RM280k


TC Subaru has now launched the all-new Subaru Outback in Malaysia. The Subaru Outback, first previewed in Malaysia more than a year ago, comes with a price tag from RM280,390 to RM310,390. The station wagon-SUV hybrid is offered in two variants namely the Subaru Outback 2.5i-Touring EyeSight and the Subaru Outback 2.4 XT Touring EyeSight.

Dimension-wise, the Subaru Outback measures 4,870 mm in length, 1,875 mm in width, 1,675 mm in height, and is underpinned by a 2,745 mm wheelbase. It has a ground clearance of 213 mm. It comes with a MacPherson suspension setup at the front and a double wishbone setup at the rear with a stabiliser bar.

The Subaru Outback comes standard with automatic LED headlights, LED taillights, LED daytime running lights (DRLs), steering-sensitive headlights, reverse auto-tilt side mirrors, heated side mirrors with indicators and, an automatic wiper. Exclusive to the Subaru Outback 2.4 XT Touring EyeSight are the satin-finished side mirrors, satin-finished roof rails, 18-inch gloss-finished alloy wheels, and a powered tailgate.

The Subaru Outback has two different powertrain options. The Subaru Outback 2.5i-Touring EyeSight comes equipped with a 2.5-litre, four-cylinder, naturally-aspirated horizontally-opposed engine that produces 169 hp (metric) and 252 Nm. It is paired with a Subaru’s eight-speed Lineartronic CVT. Power is sent to all four wheels courtesy of the Subaru’s Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system. 0-100 km/h takes 9.6 seconds onwards to the 206 km/h top speed.

Meanwhile, the Subaru Outback 2.4 XT Touring EyeSight variant comes with a 2.4-litre, four-cylinder, turbocharged horizontally-opposed boxer engine, that produces 249 hp (metric) and 350 Nm. It is paired with a Subaru’s 8-speed Lineartronic CVT. Power is sent to all four wheels courtesy of the Subaru’s Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system. 0-100 km/h takes 7.5 seconds onwards to the 221 km/h top speed.

Interior-wise, both variants come standard with Nappa leather upholstery, paddle shifter, SI-Drive (Subaru Intelligent Drive), driver’s multi-information display, a voice command, and 11-speakers with a subwoofer Harmon Kardon sound system. It also comes standard with an 11.6-inch infotainment display with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and dual-zone automatic climate control. Watch the video to find out more!
