BMW Group Malaysia has just announced the arrival of the 2024 BMW 520i M Sport, a new variant of the G60 BMW 5 Series in Malaysia. Launched with a price of RM376,700 (with BMW Service & Repair Inclusive), this new variant adds the “M Sport” treatment to the existing 520i.
RM17,00 more expensive than the regular 520i (with BMW Service & Repair Inclusive), the 2024 BMW 520i M Sport adds the following items:

- M Sport Package
- M High-Gloss Shadowline
- Interior dark silver M accents combined with Aluminium Rhombicle
- M Leather steering wheel
- M Headliner Anthracite
- Remote 3D view (part of Parking Assistant Plus)
- BMW Drive Recorder (part of Parking Assistant Plus)
- Stop & Go for Active Cruise Control
- Lane Return for Lane Departure
- Augmented View

It essentially enhances the look of the 520i with a bigger set of wheels, sportier bumpers, and a darker exterior trim treatment. There are also M Sport badges perched on the front fenders of the 520 I M Sport. Like the regular 520i, the 520i M Sport also comes equipped with the Iconic Glow feature for the kidney grille.
On the inside, the BMW 520i M Sport adds features like an M Leather steering wheel, an anthracite M headliner, and dark silver M accents combined with aluminium rhombicle trims. Just like the regular 520i, the M Sport also comes with the interaction bar and the standard curved display. According to the specification sheets at least, the 520i M Sport gets an augmented view function, a Remote 3D view, and a BMW Drive Recorder.

Powering the BMW 520i M Sport is the familiar B48 2.0-litre inline-4 turbocharged engine that gets mild hybrid (MHEV) assistance. Combined, the MHEV powertrain is able to churn out a maximum power output of 208 hp at 4,400-6,500 rpm, and a maximum torque of 330 Nm at 1,500-4,400 rpm. Sending power to the rear wheels only via an 8-speed automatic Steptronic Sport gearbox, the powertrain is able to launch the car from 0-100 km/h in 7.5 seconds, onward to a top speed of 230 km/h.
In the safety department, the 2024 BMW 520i M Sport is equipped with the Driving Assistant Plus package, as well as the Parking Assistant Plus package. The former includes items like Active Cruise Control (ACC) with Stop & Go, Steering and Lane Control Assistant, Lane Departure with Lane Return, Front collision warning with Pedestrian Warning, and Speed Limit Info. The latter includes items like the BMW Drive Recorder, Active Park Distance Control, and Remote 3D view.
