MG Motor has unveiled the all-new second-generation ZS, with the launch of the ZS Hybrid+ in the United Kingdom. Billed as a new eco-friendly compact SUV, the MG ZS Hybrid+ aims to expand on the success of the first-generation ZS model, which is the brand’s second bestseller in the UK.
The ZS Hybrid+ comes in two variants in the UK, namely the SE and Trophy, priced at GBP21,995 (approx. RM125,713) and GBP24,495 (approx. RM139,954) respectively.
The all-new second-generation MG ZS shares many of its design elements with its larger sibling, the MG HS. This includes a prominent front grille with a honeycomb pattern and sleek LED headlights, similar to the recently previewed MG5. It also features a rugged-esque exterior with plastic body cladding and a distinctive upward-sloping shoulder line. Large windows and 17-inch alloy wheels (18-inch for the Trophy variant) contribute to its spacious and modern aesthetic.
The interior features a modern and intuitive design, highlighted by a seven-inch driver instrument panel and a 12.3-inch infotainment system. The infotainment system supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. Standard features include automatic climate control, a six-speaker sound system, and black fabric seats. The Trophy variant gains several additional exclusive features, such as a 360-degree view camera, privacy glass, heated front seats and steering wheel, and leather upholstery finished in black.

Introduced with a single powertrain option for now, the MG ZS Hybrid+ features a hybrid powertrain consisting of a 1.5-litre engine, a 1.83 kWh battery pack, and an electric motor producing 134 hp and 249 Nm. This combination delivers a combined output of 193 hp, enabling a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 8.7 seconds. Its fuel efficiency is rated at 23.5km/l (WLTP combined).
The MG Pilot suite, a comprehensive package of safety and driver assistance features, comes standard on the MG ZS Hybrid+ in UK. This suite includes adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, lane departure warning, emergency braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection, blind spot monitoring, forward collision warning, and traffic jam assist.
