McLaren expands its Artura line-up in Malaysia with the introduction of the Artura Spider with a price tag of RM3,400,000 on the road, without insurance. This new convertible model features an upgraded hybrid powertrain, promising enhanced performance and driving engagement.
The McLaren Artura Spider maintains the same 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged V6 hybrid powertrain as its coupe counterpart, but with an increased output of 700 hp and 720 Nm of torque, representing a 20 hp power boost.

The powertrain is paired with an optimized 8-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT), enabling the Spider to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3 seconds, 0 to 200 km/h in 8.4 seconds, and reach a top speed of 305 km/h (electronically limited).
The Artura Spider incorporates a 7.4 kWh battery, providing up to 33 km of electric-only range. Recharging to 80% capacity takes approximately 2.5 hours using an AC Type 2 charger. The vehicle is built on McLaren’s MCLA platform, featuring a carbon fiber monocoque and aluminum subframes. This architecture, combined with a domain-based ethernet electrical system, underpins the Spider’s performance and efficiency.

To further elevate performance, McLaren has optimized the engine mounts, brake cooling, exhaust system, and suspension, resulting in improved handling and agility. A new “Spinning Wheel Pull-Away” feature adds an exciting element to the driving experience.
McLaren has refined the Artura’s exhaust system with a new valved design, producing a more refined sound compared to its predecessor. An optional sports exhaust system is available for those seeking an even more aggressive auditory experience.

The Artura Spider features a retractable hard top roof that can be opened or closed in just 11 seconds, even while driving at speeds up to 50 km/h. An optional electrochromic glass roof allows for varying levels of sunlight. To accommodate the new roof mechanism, McLaren has incorporated additional structural elements, including buttresses and a modified windscreen, to minimize wind noise and turbulence when the roof is retracted.
The Artura Spider is the lightest convertible in its segment, weighing only 1,560 kg. This is just 62 kg heavier than the coupe, despite the addition of an 11-second retractable hardtop. McLaren’s Carbon Lightweight Architecture (MCLA) ensures the Spider maintains the same rigidity as the coupe.

The Artura Spider’s infotainment system features dual high-definition screens, providing intuitive control over vehicle functions. Apple CarPlay connectivity is standard, with wireless charging offered as an optional upgrade. For audiophiles, a premium 12-speaker Bowers & Wilkins surround sound system is available.
The Artura Spider offers McLaren Clubsport seats as standard, with optional upgrades including electric adjustment, heating, and memory functions. Audiophiles can opt for the 12-speaker Bowers & Wilkins sound system as part of the Technology Pack, complementing the standard five-speaker setup. Customers can further personalize their vehicle with a range of options, including various wheel designs, titanium wheel bolts, and additional interior packages like TechLux and Vision.

To recap, the McLaren Artura Spider is priced at RM3,400,000 on the road, without insurance, without option. The prices is included with a 5-year/unlimited mileage vehicle warranty, 6-year/75,000 km battery warranty, 10-year body perforation corrosion warranty, and 3-year service plan.
