Geely has officially launched the Galaxy E5 in China. The all-electric SUV which provides all the basis for the upcoming Proton e.MAS7, goes on sale with five different variants.
The Galaxy E5 comes with a price tag that starts from 112,800 Yuan (approx. RM69,700) and tops off at 148,800 Yuan (approx. RM92,000) as reported by CarNewsChina. It is much cheaper than the estimated price during the pre-sale which is expected to price from 123,000 Yuan (approx. RM76,200) to 157,000 Yuan (approx. RM97,200).

The Geely Galaxy E5 measures 4,615 mm in length, 1,901 mm in width, 1,670 mm in height, and is underpinned by a 2,750 mm long wheelbase. This makes it about the same size as the Honda CR-V. Built on the new Global Intelligent New Energy Architecture (GEA) architecture derived from the SEA platform, it uses the cell-to-body (CTB) battery integration technology to achieve a 50:50 front-to-rear axle load ratio. It also incorporated Geely’s 11-in-1 electric motor and Aegis lithium iron phosphate battery cells.
Offered in five configurations, all of them get the same powertrain, which is a front-mounted electric motor with 218 hp (metric), allowing it to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.9 seconds. Two battery capacities are offered with the Geely Galaxy E5, which is a 49.52 kWh and a 60.22 kWh unit. These batteries give the all-electric SUV ranges of 440 km and 530 km respectively under the CLTC standard.
