Audi Q6 e-tron Performance to debut soon – RWD, 641km range, 326hp

Audi Q6 e-tron quattro

Earlier in March this year, Audi debuted the Audi Q6 e-tron Quattro and the performance-oriented SQ6 e-tron. The company mentioned that they will also be introducing a rear-wheel drive (RWD) variant at a later date that will serve as the entry-level model of the Q6 e-tron series. Fast forward to today, Audi has revealed details of the car and it is known as the Audi Q6 e-tron Performance.

Despite the “Performance” wording in its name, the Audi Q6 e-tron Performance is actually the least powerful model in the Q6 e-tron family lineup. Powering it is a rear-mounted single-motor setup that pushes out 240 kW (326 hp metric), allowing the all-electric SUV to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.6 seconds, and achieve an electronically limited top speed of 210 km/h.

For comparison, the all-wheel drive (AWD)-equipped Q6 e-tron Quattro makes slightly more power at 387 hp (metric). The lack of power does come with an advantage though, which is more driving range.

Thanks to a 100 kWh battery pack, the Q6 e-tron Performance can travel as far as 641 km (WLTP) on a single charge. That is 16 km more range than the Q6 e-tron Quattro is able to deliver.

Like other Audi Q6 e-tron variants, charging the Audi Q6 e-tron Performance can be done at a maximum DC charging rate of 270 kW. This enables the battery to be charged from 10 to 80% in just 21 minutes. A 10-minute charge at a high power charging (HPC) station can replenish the car with 260 km of driving range.

Audi has not revealed images of its latest all-electric SUV just yet, except for an image of its B-pillar. Order books for the Audi Q6 e-tron Performance in Europe are now open. Prices for the all-electric SUV start at 68,800 EUR (approx. RM349,948).

It has been confirmed that the Audi Q6 e-tron will be making its launch in Malaysia this year. Can we expect the new “Performance” variant to be offered here as well?
