Rolls-Royce Cullinan Series II debuts – V12 twin turbo engine lives on

After about 6 years since its world debut, the Rolls-Royce Cullinan has been cleaved and sawed by the brand once again to give it a refresher. What you’re looking at here is the 2025 Roll-Royce Cullinan Series II (or facelift), and boy is it a significant evolution from the original. One might say that it looks like it has grown in height, and there is a good explanation for that.

The new Rolls-Royce Cullinan facelift now boasts “verticality” as its key design theme and supposedly echoes the many skyscrapers you see in megacities. And the reason Rolls-Royce has gone in this direction is due to the Cullinan’s increasingly urban focus and its youthful cadre of clients.

The exterior of the Cullinan now sports tall DRLS which extend to the bottom from the outside of the headlights. Its feature lines are also now much simpler and it has taken new inspiration from various elements around the world. One unique reference on the Cullinan would be the “Shallow V” on the front bumper which is inspired by modern sports yachts.

With its increasingly youthful clientele, the Cullinan also now sports more youthful elements like the massive 23-inch wheels that it sits on. According to the company, this is the first time the Cullinan is equipped with 23-inch wheels from the factory. The car has a slightly sportier stance too thanks to the new feature line that extends from the top of the taillight to the centre of the rear wheel. The exhaust tips are also surrounded by a mirror-finish stainless steel trim.

Inside, the layout remains rather familiar, albeit with some significant tweaks. A glass panel on top of the dashboard now spans from pillar to pillar. There is also a Spirit of Ecstasy that is now embedded into the Cullinan’s dashboard.

Beside the new interior Spirit of Ecstasy is a new illuminated fascia panel that features an illuminated Cullinan wordmark and a unique Cityscape graphic inspired by megacities. This panel was created using a specially developed technique whereby 7,000 dots are laser-etched onto the rear of the darkened and toughened security glass, each at minutely differing angles and dimensions to create the perception of depth.

As for the rear passengers in the Cullinan, some improvements can be seen in the rear entertainment system. 2 streaming devices can now be connected at the same time (for the rear passengers), and unlike before, Bluetooth headphones of any type can now be connected to the rear entertainment system. The Cullinan also features an 18-speaker Bespoke Audio system. Other than the improved and new items in the Cullinan, it also now features new materials that are inspired by nature.

As for the powertrain of the Rolls-Royce Cullinan, no electrification is in sight as it still gets the same 6.75L twin-turbo V12 engine that outputs 571 hp (metric) and 850 Nm in the regular Cullinan and 600 hp (metric) and 900 Nm in the Black Badge variant. The transmission in use is an 8-speed automatic from ZF.

To distinguish the Black Badge from the regular Cullinan, it gets a new unique Black Badge exterior coachwork as well as new unique interior details developed for the Series II. According to Rolls-Royce, the Black Badge offers an evolved and more visceral expression of what a Rolls-Royce is.
