Rolls-Royce Phantom Series II launched in Malaysia, from RM2.5 million before taxes

Rolls-Royce’s latest iteration of the Phantom, the Rolls-Royce Phantom Series II, has made its launch in Malaysia, replacing the original 8th-generation Rolls-Royce Phantom launched in the country in 2017. Available in two versions, the standard-wheelbase (SWB) Phantom Series II and the extended-wheelbase (EWB) Phantom Extended Series II, prices for the limousine start at RM2,500,000 for the SWB, and top out at RM2,900,000, for the EWB (excluding options and taxes).

The Rolls-Royce Phantom Series II in Malaysia can be customised with a total of 44,000 colour options. The colour option seen here is known as the Tempest Grey. Changes made to the Phantom Series II over its predecessor include a new polished horizontal line between the daytime running lights (DRLs) above the Pantheon grille.

Rolls-Royce has also made a subtle geometric change to the Pantheon grille, making the “RR” badge of Honour and Spirit of Ecstasy mascot more prominent when viewed from the front. The headlights of the Phantom Series II also sport intricate-cut bezel starlights, creating a visual connection with the Starlight Headliner inside.

Fitted with a set of 22-inch fully polished forged alloy wheels, the SWB Rolls-Royce Phantom Series II sports a 3,552 mm wheelbase, while the longer Phantom Extended Series II is underpinned by a 3,772 mm wheelbase.

Powering the Rolls-Royce Phantom Series II in Malaysia is a 6.75-litre twin-turbo V12 engine, producing 563 hp and 900 Nm. Paired with a ZF 8-speed automatic transmission, power is sent to the rear wheels. This enables the standard Phantom Series II to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.3 seconds, while the extended version can do the same in 5.4 seconds.

Inside, the steering wheel of the Rolls-Royce Phantom Series II has been made slightly thicker, which the carmaker says provides a more “connected and immediate point of contact for the owner-driver”.

The Rolls Royce Phantom Series II in Malaysia also sports the brand’s new Rolls-Royce Connected system. This enables the owner to send an address to the car via the Whispers, the Rolls-Royce private-members’ application, which provides seamless navigation to an event, restaurant, dealership or even the Home of Rolls-Royce itself. The Rolls-Royce Connected system also displays the car’s location, security status and current “health” condition on Whispers. At the touch of a button, the owner can contact a preferred dealership for any servicing recruitment or information about the car.
