Porsche Cayenne GTS facelift debuts – 500hp biturbo V8, 660Nm, 0-100km/h in 4.4 secs

The facelifted Porsche Cayenne lineup has just received yet another variant, the Porsche Cayenne GTS. It not only comes with a sportier exterior but also better performance.

On the outside, the Porsche Cayenne GTS facelift is decorated with larger cooling air intakes up front, dark-tinted HD matrix LED headlights and taillights, along with red brake callipers. Porsche has also equipped the SUV with the Sport Design Package as standard, which brings a series of black design bits.

Exterior parts that have been blackened out include the side skirts, front inlays, side window trims, and wheel arch extensions. The GTS badges on the sides and rear have also been finished in black.

Fitted onto the facelifted Porsche Cayenne GTS are a set of RS Spyder-design wheels in anthracite grey and the sports exhaust system tailpipes in a dark bronze tone. Like before, the Cayenne GTS is available in both traditional SUV and “coupe” formats.

Underneath the hood of the Porsche Cayenne GTS is a 4.0-litre Twin-turbo V8 engine that churns out 500 hp (metric) and 660 Nm. This is some 40 hp (metric) and 40 Nm more than what its predecessor made.

Mated to an 8-speed Tiptronic S transmission, which Porsche says has been revised to provide shorter response and shift times in Sport and Sport Plus modes, power is sent to all four wheels. This makes it possible for the Cayenne GTS to do the century sprint in just 4.4 seconds and reach a top speed of 275 km/h.

For better handling dynamics, Porsche has lowered the Cayenne GTS’ ride height by 10 mm. It also sports front axle pivot bearings that have been brought over from the even more powerful Cayenne Turbo GT. The transfer box for the all-wheel drive Porsche Traction Management (PTM) features an independent water cooling circuit, also adapted from the Turbo GT variant.

Moving inside the Porsche Cayenne GT facelift, you will find features such as a heated GT sports steering wheel, as well as high-quality Race-Tex material throughout the car. Its roof lining, armrests, door panels, and centre panels of the 8-way adjustable sports seats are covered in suede-like fabric. Speaking of the sports seats, the side bolsters have been further raised to offer even more lateral support when cornering.

Order books for the all-new Porsche Cayenne GTS are now open in markets such as Europe. Deliveries in that region will begin in the summer of this year.
