Porsche Cayenne S E-Hybrid debuts as 3rd PHEV variant – 3.0L V6 Turbo, 519hp, 750 Nm

With the Porsche Cayenne getting a comprehensive facelift that debuted earlier this year, Porsche has now introduced a third plug-in hybrid (PHEV) variant of the Cayenne, called the Porsche Cayenne S E-Hybrid. It is positioned above the Cayenne E-Hybrid and below the Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid.

Made available in both SUV and Coupe SUV body styles, the Porsche Cayenne S E-Hybrid benefits from the comprehensively revised hybrid technology of the Cayenne model. Some plus points include improved electric range and short charging times thanks to intelligent energy management.

As the mid-level offering of the PHEV Porsche Cayenne, the Porsche Cayenne S E-Hybrid is powered by a PHEV system that consists of a revised 3.0-litre V6 turbo engine and an electric motor. The engine itself makes 353 hp (metric) while the electric motor outputs 176 hp (metric). Combined the PHEV system makes 519 hp and 750 Nm – enabling a 4.7-second century sprint time and a top speed of 263 km/h.

As for the electric part of the PHEV system, the Porsche Cayenne S E-Hybrid can be charged with 11-kW AC charging. This charges the battery from flat to full in less than 2.5 hours. With a 25.9-kWh battery pack, it can be driven on pure electricity for up to 90 km on a single charge.

One highlight on the Cayenne S E-Hybrid is the standard adaptive air suspension with a 2-chamber, 2-valve technology. This enables a wide spectrum of spring rates that range from extremely comfortable to high-performance, dynamic behaviour.

Exterior highlights of the Porsche Cayenne S E-Hybrid include the standard 20-inch Cayenne S wheels, two twin tailpipes, and standard matrix LED headlights (HD matrix LED headlights optional). It also comes with a Silver exterior package for the SUV and a Black exterior package for the coup.

Interior highlights of the Cayenne S E-Hybrid include the 8-way seats and the standard Sport Chrono Package. The package includes a mode switch for selecting the driving programme, pedal pads in stainless steel, as well as the Diamar interior package painted in Silvershade. The driver also benefits from additional functions in the My Porsche app, including new functions in Apple CarPlay.
