The 2024 GAC GS3 Emzoom has just been launched in Malaysia. Currently fully imported (CBU) from China, the GS3 Emzoom is offered in 3 variants. With a starting price of RM118,900 (OTR, without insurance), and is set to compete against the likes of the Chery Omoda 5, Honda HR-V, and Proton X50.

Built on GAC’s GPMA platform, the 2024 GAC GS3 Emzoom measures 4,410 mm long, 1,850 mm wide, and 1,600 mm and is underpinned by a 2,650 mm wheelbase. This makes it slightly larger than both the Proton X50 and the Honda HR-V.
The most eye-catching part of the 2024 GAC GS3 Emzoom has to be its exterior design. Featuring sharp and aggressive lines, together with the “Fyling Mecha” front fascia, the GS3 Emzoom’s design looks like it has been inspired by Japanese Gundam figurines.

The range-topping Premium R variant sports an even more aggressive-looking design as it comes with orange accents throughout, and a more aggressive-looking body kit. There is also a sportier-looking diffuser and centre-mounted exhaust outlets at the back.

As mentioned above, the GAC GS3 Emzoom is currently a CBU model from China. GAC Motor and its official distributor in Malaysia, WTC Automotif, have recently marked the Start of Production (SOP) for the completely knocked-down (CKD) of the GAC GS3 Emzoom at WTCA’s Segambut plant with a ribbon-cutting ceremony merely 13 months after the local assembly project was first announced in 2023.
