Mercedes-Benz Malaysia is teasing the 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLS facelift and the Mercedes-Maybach GLS through a social media post which also includes a teaser for the S63 sedan. In the social media post, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia hints that three of these cars will be making their official debut in Malaysia between April 3-7, 2024.
Currently in its third generation, which is called the X167, The Mercedes-Benz GLS was given a facelift back in April 2023. Although it may be hard to tell from the teaser images released by Mercedes-Benz Malaysia, the new taillight cluster of the facelifted Mercedes-Benz GLS is the biggest giveaway of this model update.
The facelift for the GLS introduces a more striking radiator grille, a more visually prominent bumper with integrated air inlets and rear lights with a new triple horizontal block design. There are also 2 new body colours for the GLS, namely ‘sodalite blue metallic’ and ‘MANUFAKTUR alpine grey non-metallic’.
Inside, the Mercedes-Benz GLS has been revised with the latest steering wheel generation, louvres galvanized in Silver Shadow, and glossy brown line wood trim which is now standard. Customers of all GLS versions in Europe can also opt for the MANUFAKTUR glossy black flowing line piano lacquer trim which was previously only available for the GLS 600 4MATIC.
Upon the global debut of the facelifted GLS, it was revealed with several versions, This includes the GLS 450 4MATIC, GLS 580 4MATIC, GLS 350 d 4MATIC, GLS 450d 4MATIC, Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 4MATIC, and the Mercedes-AMG GLS 63 4MATIC+.
We sure look forward to seeing the bouncing Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 on our shores soon. The Maybach GLS gets vertical chrome bars, Maybach letterings, and a 23-inch Maybach design wheels with bolt covers. The Maybach GLS is also equipped with ambient lighting with animated projection of the Mercedes‑Maybach pattern and a new seat cover design that features high-quality diamond-pattern quilting with specific perforations.
At the moment, the pre-facelift GLS and its Maybach version are no longer officially listed on Mercedes-Benz Malaysia’s official website. The pre-facelift Mercedes-Benz GLS (X167) was launched in Malaysia back in September 2020. It was launched in the GLS 450 4MATIC guise with the AMG Line treatment. It fetched a price of RM899,888 upon launch.
The pre-facelift Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 was launched in Malaysia back in March 2022. No longer listed on Mercedes-Benz Malaysia’s official website, it fetched a price of RM1.78 million upon launch.
