Subaru WRX S4 STI Sport # unveiled for Japan – 500 units only, lottery purchase

The special edition Subaru WRX S4 STI Sport # (Sharp) has just been unveiled for the Japanese market at Tokyo Auto Salon 2024. Developed based on the Japanese-market Subaru WRX S4 STI Sport R EX, the WRX S4 STI Sport # is limited to only 500 units in Japan, and is only available in the country via lottery.

The WRX S4 STI Sport # features a front grille, side view mirror covers, a shark fin antenna, and a boot spoiler finished in Crystal Black Silica paint. The “STI”, “WRX” “Symmetrical AWD” badges it wears are also finished in black.

Being an STI Sport model, and not a full-fledged STI, powering the WRX S4 STI Sport # is the same 2.4-litre direct-injected turbo flat-4 engine found in the regular WRX. Making 275 hp (metric) and 375 Nm, the mill is paired with a CVT gearbox, which is also equipped with Subaru’s performance fluid cooler for better performance.

Utilising Subaru’s STI performance parts such as beefier strut and sway bars, the WRX S4 STI Sport # has been specially tuned for better handling and stability. Subaru has also fitted the sports sedan with a set of 19-inch black STI performance wheels, wrapped with Michelin Pilot Sport 5 tires.

Inside, the WRX S4 STI Sport # sports a genuine leather-wrapped steering wheel, along with black Recaro seats finished in Ultrasuede and synthetic leather with silver stitching at the front and back. Additionally, the front seats also feature STI logos stitched onto the headrest.

The WRX S4 STI Sport # is offered in Japan with a 6,237,000 Yen (approx. RM199,779) price tag. As mentioned before, only 500 units of the car will be made, which is only available via lottery.
