Tesla Malaysia has just announced that its Supercharger station located at Freeport A’Famosa is now open, making this the brand’s fourth live Supercharger location in Malaysia, and its first in the state of Melaka. There are a total of four Superchargers at the location, each capable of providing up to 250 kW of charging speeds, alongside an AC Destination charger.
Charging rates are listed at RM1.25/kWh off the bat at the new Supercharger station in Melaka. Like the brand’s other Supercharger stations in Malaysia, idle fees are set at RM4/min. However, the fee is only applied when the Supercharger station is at 50% capacity or more but will double when the station is at full capacity. The idle fee will also be waived if owners move their cars within the first five minutes.
Similar to Tesla Malaysia’s other Supercharger stations throughout Malaysia, the Freeport A’Famosa charging station is open 24/7, and only supports Tesla vehicles, where customers can pay for the charging fee through the Tesla mobile app. Specifically, the Supercharger station is located at Jalan Kemus / Sempang Ampat Alor Gajah, 78000 Alor Gajah, Melaka.
Tesla Malaysia has committed to set up a total of 16 Supercharging stations throughout Malaysia. The carmaker will also be installing a minimum of 50 individual DC chargers nationwide, with 30% of them open to other brands, as per an agreement with the Malaysian government.

Thus far, Tesla Superchargers that are already live and ready to serve Tesla customers in the country can be found at locations such as Pavilion KL, Sunway Pyramid, Sunway Bigbox Johor, as well as the brand new one at Freeport A’Famosa Melaka.
